Grizzly
700 FI
The new 2007 Grizzly 700 4x4 FI is the most powerful, high-performance model
in its class, offering a superior balance of rider comfort and convenience.
Built with adventure enthusiasts and sportsmen in mind, it offers: a fully
independent rear suspension (IRS) system, an unique single-cylinder 686 cc
liquid cooled, four-valve SOHC engine and it’s the first Yamaha ATV to
utilize Electric Power Steering (EPS).
Engine
Powering the Grizzly 700 4x4 FI is Yamaha’s proven revolutionary fuel
injected 686 cc, four-stroke forward-inclined single cylinder and
liquid-cooled engine. With a bore and stroke of 102 x 84 mm, it displaces
686 cc and features a new ceramic composite coated, all-aluminum cylinder, a
reverse-facing air intake, electronic fuel injection, straight intake
tracts, and four valves per cylinder. It also features a high-efficiency
radiator mounted high in the chassis to protect against mud and debris.

Brakes
To assist with braking, the engine features Yamaha’s Engine Brake Control,
which helps to slow the ATV when descending steep downhill. Like the Grizzly
660 4x4, the Grizzly 700 4x4 FI transfers power from its engine to the
wheels through Yamaha’s Ultramatic V-Belt transmission featuring high and
low range, reverse, plus parking brake. By pressing a button on the
handlebar, the rider can also select two- or four-wheel drive operation. In
four-wheel drive mode, the Grizzly 700 can utilize the differential lock to
deliver the torque equally to all wheels for maximum traction. The straight
lay-out design of the drive shafts reduces vibration and minimizes torque
fluctuations in the drive line.

The
rear braking system and gear case have been redesigned in conjunction with
the new IRS. Smaller and more compact, the gear case is extremely rugged and
efficient. The dual front and rear discs are Yamaha’s highly acclaimed
braking system, which provide maximum stopping power for the Grizzly 700 4x4
FI.
Suspension
The Grizzly 700 4x4 FI utilizes a sturdy double-cradle frame made of tubular
steel. The Grizzly 700 IRS features double wishbone suspension in front and
rear. The suspension has adjustable pre-load on the front shocks and offers
180 mm of wheel travel, while the IRS, also featuring adjustable pre-load
shock absorbers provides 230 mm of wheel travel. The IRS provides smooth
suspension action for high stability and excellent rider comfort

Chassis
The combination of the new chassis and suspension provides the Grizzly 700
with a stunning 275 mm of ground clearance. In addition, the Grizzly 700
rides on lightweight 12-inch aluminium panel wheels shod with 25-inch tires
featuring more aggressive tread blocks.
Riding
Position
Rider position on the Grizzly 700 4x4 FI is more upright and sits 25 mm
higher than that of the Grizzly 660 4x4, enhancing the rider’s ability to
scan the horizon. The new vertically positioned automotive-style instrument
panel suits the riding position with new features to ensure that the rider
has all-important information.
